School boards actively work to support students in their educational pathways. By partnering with local colleges to offer dual credit, OYAP and SWAC programming, the school boards are taking an active role in connecting students to pathways in post secondary education. School Boards understand the role colleges can play in changing a students' future who may be struggling to complete their OSSD. A School Board- College partnership supports all students in the realization of their potential.
School boards want to see all students successfully complete their OSSD. The Dual Credit option supports these efforts in partnership with local colleges.
Over 4,000 students take dual credit programming in the GTA each year. Over 80% of those students were at risk of not completing their OSSD and go on to study full-time programs at College.
Some students benefit from new beginnings and different pathways. The dual credit courses provide students a new chance with the potential to succeed in college level studies with supports. They can also gain valuable credits towards future post-secondary studies.
